7th Annual Kleenco Alexandria Grand Prix set for Aug 18-19, 2018

The 2018 Kleenco Alexandria Grand Prix will be held on August 18-19, 2018. This Southern Indiana Racing Association sanctioned event in “One of the Largest Go-Kart Street Racing Events in the Midwest”. Over 120 drivers from all over will travel to Alexandria to compete in this two day event. Drivers of ages from 5 years old to retirees will come to race on the downtown streets at speeds of up to 75 mph. The Kleenco Alexandria Grand Prix is under the organization of a race committee and the support of the Alexandria Monroe Chamber Of Commerce.

Over 3000 spectators will come to watch competitions on both days in 10 different classes of go carts.

Along with some of the best go kart racing in the state other activities will surround the event. There will be food, vendors, Car show, and spectacular entertainment.

This year Bluegrass/Country Gospel Musician, Woody Wright will be joining the Opening Ceremonies. Other traditional acts performing at the opening ceremonies are: Victoria Flood, Cody Boyce, Anderson High School Drum and Bagpipes, and the VFW. New this year will be local band Damaged Goods entertaining the crowd with a special concert from 6-9pm on Saturday.

Food vendors will have a variety of treats from traditional items like hamburgers, hotdogs, tenderloins, and frozen treats. New this year will be some Louisiana treats like alligator and gumbo.
